mental issues don't care about circumstance

Mental issues are very commonly twisted, people believe you need a reason for them to happen. That your life must be incredibly dark for you to have depression, or that you have to have gone through war to have post traumatic stress disorder, or you would have had to have been abused to have anxiety. However this is not the case, mental disorders do not care about circumstance, you can live a very safe and full life but some how still have depression or have been through something YOU found to have been terrifying which gave you PTSD. There will always be critics, someone saying "oh you cant feel this way, there is someone out there who has it worse" and what really sucks is sometimes that person is you. Sometimes its us who decide our pain is foolish, that we shouldn't feel that way because of the things you have. However, you cant compare your pain to someone else's, because while there pain may be larger then yours, it dosn't make yours any less valid, its still pain, and your allowed to feel that, no matter yours or someone else's circumstances. Be ok with your pain, so that you can begin to treat it, because you can get through it, in your own way, with your own time. <3

I love this article, it might be one of my favorites. Because I always feel so guilty when I vent about something and people are just like “well there are so many people that have it worse just be thankful you aren’t them” and im obviously thankful that my life isn’t even worse but my problems matter, maybe not to other people but things like stress and anxiety (something I really struggle with, something that affects me mentally and physically everyday) this article really points out the need in the world to understand that everyone’s problems matter and should be taken into consideration all the time. Thank you for being such an inspiration ❤️
