Rosie the riveter, despite contrary belief was not a real person, however this does not make her any less inspiring or less of a figure to be recognized. Rosie was a symbol during the time of World War ll, all the men had been set away to fight leaving the woman alone to make the war uniforms, to get jobs, to provide for their families, which was something that had never been done before. Rosie was a symbol to all women everywhere that they could do it, they could run the country without the men, and this speaks volumes. Rosie is still a famous figure today and she will most likely continue to be an inspiration for years to come, this is something that makes Rosie special, she is timeless and will continue to be inspiring for the lives of women everywhere.
Sophie Scholl was a 21 year old girl who lead a student resistance against Adolf Hitler in the 1940s she was ultimately discovered and executed in 1943, she however did not die without a fight, her last words being "how can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give themselves up individually to a righteous cause? such a fine and sunny day and i have to go, but what does my death matter if through us thousands of people are awakened and steered into action?"
